Impack of new herb law from 1st May 2011: The new EU herb law bans importing of "unlicensed" Chinese herbal medicine from 1st May 2011. This unfair law does affect all of our ready made over the counter products, include herbal teas. Although we are entitled to "sell through" stock, but once we run out of stock, we cannot get any new supplies. We have very sadly sold out some of our herbals and cannot be replaced. If this herbal law has not been reversed, like other retailers, we will sell out every products soon or late. This new herb law ingores the fact that Chinese herbal medicine are very safe, it has been used by billions of Chinese people and over thousands years. All of these products we sell were manufactured by GMP (Good manufacturing practice) certified manufacturers, these manufacturers have licences issued and regulated by China state food and drug administration. Some manufacturers are also received GMP Certificate from the Therapeutic Goods Administration (“TGA”) of Australia, or has NSF International certificate (to meet or exceed the US FDA's GMP guidelines) (see details at "Quality Assurance") . This new herb law takes away European citizens' freedom to choose their own medications. To read full article of argument, click here. To save herbal medicine in the EU, Sign a petition. "Why on earth should it be decided in Brussels what herbal medicines people here can or cannot buy?" -- UK foreign minister William Hague said 21 oct 2011 on the telegraph. So please push your MP to call for a referendum on the UK's membership of the European Union and vote to leave EU and reclaim our freedom of choice of our own medication.
